I've written several plots that address the Narada and the attack on Vulcan. What I do know is that it will take place further in the future than the 2009 movie. Kirk and Spock will be on the Enterprise when it happens, having served for quite some time in the service. Kirk won't be Captain when it starts but like the movie; he'll end up in the hot seat.
