I wondered what was up with the changing of SciFi to SyFy back when they announced it and thought it sounded really stupid.
Then I read (don't remember the source, so it may not be true) that they wanted to distinguish themselves from scifi as a genre versus a company/channel which I can understand even if the name is dorky. That may also be true with a bit of a slant in that they could have sold the SciFi domain which I'm sure they were being gouged for. And whoever got the idea that wrestling is in the scifi genre really had to just be tossing stupid ideas out there and it was taken seriously.
And yes to #5. I love smart comedy. I get a kick out of physical and/or slapstick, but even that can be smart if they take the time to do it IMO. There are a lot of idiots out there, but I appreciate it when I see a movie or read something that goes with intelligence instead of assuming I'm an idiot too.
#1 - I wish I could say I wasn't one. I've had allergies my whole life and actually was scared when I was little that I would get kidnapped and they would tape my mouth shut and I would suffocate. I suppose I should have been more afraid of all the other parts of kidnapping, but there ya go. And I don't blame people when mouth breathing gets to them. I annoy myself :D
