Cluster Headaches & Live Journal

I've been suffering from migraines most of my life (since puberty in fact) but this whole cluster headache thing is a new one for me. I had a shot today at the doctor's office so this marks the first time in basically weeks when my head hasn't hurt.

To check things out, I'm getting an MRI tomorrow though the doctor doesn't expect to find anything. It's just she doesn't currently have a picture of my brain. I told her, that the last time I saw something stupid on the internet that I got a brief look at my brain and it looked normal. ;-)

Anyways, I'm going to try to journal more to sort of make my whole move from LJ to Dreamwidth worth it....that implies I had to work. I didn't. That shit went smooth as silk still I haven't checked for duplicate entries yet and honestly I don't care if there are duplicate entries. More and more the whole thing with LJ and Russia bothers me so I hope people are paying attention to what's being said and they aren't sticking their heads in the sand over the whole thing.

For reference:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LiveJournal

On April 4, 2017, LiveJournal significantly modified its terms of use, making the service subject to the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation. The new terms prohibit users from posting "advertising and/or political solicitation materials", or performing any actions that are "contradictory to the laws of the Russian Federation". The terms also state that users are subject to Article 10.2 of the Federal Act of the Russian Federation No. 149 (laws which have been described as "draconian" and restricting free expression),[106][107] which dictates that blogs with more than 3000 daily visitors are classified as media outlets and may not be published anonymously, are responsible for the dissemination of unverified information, and are restricted from posting pornography, obscene language, or "extremist materials".[107][108][106]

Additionally, the English-language terms of service are no longer considered legally-binding. The new terms prompted wide concern from users who believed that their content would now be targeted under Russian censorship policies, including the country's "gay propaganda" law.[109][61]

If you value all the work you've put into your journal over the years, you'll move your shit before you're subject to this bullshit.

As soon as you and Jilly mentioned that Russia was pulling shit, I started the process of moving. I am NOT going to give the Russians a chance to fuck me over.

Thanks for looking out for us.

And I really hope that the doctor has some idea what to do about the headaches. Because they sound like misery

It's terrible. When they first acquired LJ everyone was waiting for a move like this, but after a few years I think we all thought it would just continue on the way it was. I will miss the friends and feeling of community I had there in the earlier days of my life in fandom, but I too will be deleting my LJ account.

I am in the process of moving my content to dreamwidth. So is everyone else I know (off). Currently I'm waiting for the que to reach my content (it's been 15 hours). The amount of people moving is massive.
Livejournal is going to deeply regret that shit IMO.

I do want to thank you for alerting me to the situation.

Thanks for the info! I've got my LJ in the queue to move now. Does anyone know how to delete a livejournal without accepting the Russian terms?

As soon as I heard about it I moved over here as well. Not that I posted on there but I may actually put my works on here now.

It is skeevy as fuck and I want Zero part of it.

Utter crap all round. I moved immediately and was thankful for the heads up. I had my current Lj and a really old one, that I hadn't touched for nearly 10 years. Transfered one and deleted the content in both. Just waiting to see if any more of my comms will come over, then will delete both Lj.

Hope your shot keeps you pain free for awhile.

My sympathy on the headaches. Glad you were able to get some relief.

I'm happy I've been crossposting from DW for years, however I was too lazy to move my art from Scrapbook on LJ. Now I will and then I'll delete each individual entry. I will probably leave it a blank journal in order to comment on LJ - until they delete it because I'm not posting. *rolls eyes*

There is a body piercing daith that I, and several other people I know have. I got mine for anxiety reasons but all my other friends got them for migraine prevention and other than migraine's caused by atmospheric pressure it works!

Good to see you here, and sorry to hear about your headaches. It's gonna suck leaving LJ for good. So many memories, friends that have come and gone, some forever. Sigh.

It's been years since I've been out here. I guess I will have to start coming here more often. Thank you for the heads up. I don't post often on LJ, but I've kept it for the ability to touch base with folks and be "friends" on a couple of Friends Only pages that will probably disappear quickly.

As to the cluster migraines... I do hope they aren't a frequent thing for you... I've gotten them for a while now, they are not fun. Just to warn you, my Dr orders an MRI for me every 7 to 10 years now "to make sure the migraines aren't hiding anything". Yours may do the same.

I'm glad the shot worked.

As soon as I heard about the LJ shit from you I proceeded to go and delete my account. The only reason I had an account in the first place was so that I could gain access to some communities etc.

The laws are really ridiculous at times and the corruption shit that I used to hear from my father makes it even worse. On a complete side note, I actually did get extra points in arts class from a work I did critisizing our nextdoor neighbour. :D

Thanks for this! I've got my 2 lj accounts queued for import to dreamwidth, and once they're done, I'll be saying goodbye to LJ. Both journals very much break their bullshit laws, since I'm bi and make no secret of it, am a big supporter of lgbtq rights, and in my other lj I have *cough*mumbleyears*cough* of explicit gay buttsex fanfic. Fuck Putin and the big gayhate horse he rode in on!

(Also I have angry!PMS. I'm not above stabbing a bitch with my shiny knitting needles, just saying. Also? Don't go to the biggest, busiest store at teatime on Good Friday when you have angry!PMS. Just saying. That way lies madness. Well, anger. And the extreme desire to run people over with my trolley.)

Also, sucks about your migraines. :( You have my sympathy and I really hope they ease off again soon.
