10 Things I Hate

I HATE...

1. Peppermint patties
2. The beach and anything involving getting in a body of water that doesn't have chlorine in it.

6. The SyFy Channel for canceling Farscape and for changing the spelling of their name because now I can't even take them seriously.

8. Whoever is responsible for the cancellation of Stargate: Atlantis
9. Locked fic entries on LJ though I do know why some people lock their LJ's down because fandom in general is full of sorry, no good, horrible bitches. (well maybe not FULL but it certainly feels like it sometimes)
10. The woman who lives down the street from me who drives the BMW. I don't hate her for the BMW because I don't even really like BMWs but I will say this. If you're going to drive a 50,000 dollar car then you need to DRIVE it and otherwise you need to park that shit in the driveway and let it look pretty instead.

2. Idiots that think something is "woman's work".
3. Fancy restaurants where they serve you a few artistically placed smears, and a dollop of something and charge you more than it cost for my first car. I don't want to spend that much money, and then have to stop at the drive-thru for some real food on the way home.
4. People that dump their pets off in the country. Especially those that think they are doing them a favor, and that they can hunt for their food. Trust me your Pekingese isn't going to suddenly turn into the mighty hunter and take down a freaking deer.
5. People that judge me because I'm in my 40's and live with my parents. For the record both are disabled, and I live here to help them. Even if they weren't, and I really was sponging off of them it wouldn't be anyone's business.
6. Racists. I'm always shocked when I meet one because they often look so fucking normal. They should have to have a "I'm a racist asshole" tattoo on their foreheads.
7. That they are now putting raspberries in freaking everything. I'm violently allergic and shouldn't have to worry that my M&M's are going to kill me.
8. Those that abuse the elderly. They need to be taken out and beat on with lead pipes until what's left of them needs to be squeegeed from the walls.
9. 99.9% of my relatives. There are a lot of reasons why I leave at least 1,000 miles away from most of those idiots.
10. Spam. The stuff in the can (although the other kind bugs the crap out of me too). I'm not sure what it is, but I do know that it's not food. Just thinking about it makes me want to gag.

I remember getting an email from SyFy channel when they were changing their name and they gave an explanation for it. All I remembered was translating their message in my head as "we are trying to get away from good programming because the reality crap and wrestling crap pays us more!!" I do remember them saying something about changing the name from SciFi as they were more than just Science fiction and the name was too restricting!

Which I took as a slap in the face, btw. I remember getting that email, too. The fuckers.

I wondered what was up with the changing of SciFi to SyFy back when they announced it and thought it sounded really stupid.

Then I read (don't remember the source, so it may not be true) that they wanted to distinguish themselves from scifi as a genre versus a company/channel which I can understand even if the name is dorky. That may also be true with a bit of a slant in that they could have sold the SciFi domain which I'm sure they were being gouged for. And whoever got the idea that wrestling is in the scifi genre really had to just be tossing stupid ideas out there and it was taken seriously.

And yes to #5. I love smart comedy. I get a kick out of physical and/or slapstick, but even that can be smart if they take the time to do it IMO. There are a lot of idiots out there, but I appreciate it when I see a movie or read something that goes with intelligence instead of assuming I'm an idiot too.

#1 - I wish I could say I wasn't one. I've had allergies my whole life and actually was scared when I was little that I would get kidnapped and they would tape my mouth shut and I would suffocate. I suppose I should have been more afraid of all the other parts of kidnapping, but there ya go. And I don't blame people when mouth breathing gets to them. I annoy myself :D

2. That Ianto Jones is dead.
3. Parents who do not parent; if you need more friends go find some, don't create misbehaving freaks for the rest of us to fix.
4. People who say these ones or those ones.
5. People who assume that just because I'm a twin means I can read her mind.
6. The SyFy Channel; their treatment of the Stargate fandom is evil.
7. I totally agree about the wrestling, if you have a channel named after a type of programing stick with the type.
8. People who "share" the music from their cars; if I wanted to hear it I would play it myself.
9. Poeple who "stop" in red fire zones; the law doesn't mean everyone except you.
10. People who want to interupt me when I am waiting on a customer for "just a quick question"; not only is it rude to the customer it's very rarely "quick".

1. Seafood. all of it. shrimp, lobster, McDonald's Fillet-o-fish. I am over 40 and I have tried almost all of it, and would like it if people would stop trying to get me to eat it, as if I haven't tried it and discovered I cant stand it. The odor, the smell, the texture. ugh.
2. Will Ferrel movies. Most of Jim Carey movies. Seth Rodgren.
3. Movies where average to below average looking guys get incredibly hot looking women.
4. Oscars. Just how needy and self centered, arrogant and entitled can one group be?
5. People who call 911 and don't have emergencies, but are just too fucking lazy or cheap to call 411 and get the number to their local police department.
6.People who park in handicap spots using a handicap placard that doesn't belong to them, but a relative. and the person who needs it isn't in the car.
7. feeling guilty when my supervisor asks to speak to me in their office. Intellectually I know i havens done anything wrong, but my gut always acts like i have just been caught doing something wrong.
8. white appliances and oak cabinets in a kitchen. if the cabinets are white, that's ok. otherwise i just cant stand the color combo.
9. that we can send people into space, create robots and make remote car starters that allow you to stay warm in your home while the car gets warmed up, which are cool, but no one can invent a self-cleaning toilet.
10. that i am a coward in life. there are things i want to do, want to visit, want to say, and i am to scared to do, go, say. i wasn't always like this, i'm not sure when it started.
11. people who are offended if you use a word they don't know the meaning of. just because i know the meaning of the word acquiesce or defenestration, doesn't make me a snob. why don't you just look it up? or ask? I would. I do. why should i pretend to be less literate than I am, just to make you comfortable?

1. I hate parents who say they will not educate their own kid because he/she is old enough. Believe me they aren't and these kids are in desperate need of some boundaries.
2. I hate politicians how still think that nuclear energies are something we should use. Really Tschernobyl and Fukushima are no exception they are the risk we all are facing due to the use of nuclear energies.
3. I hate homophobes. The next person who says to me that we should not be able to adopt due to the fact that we are two women is going to get a kick into his ass. ( Sorry for the rudeness)
4. Bankers who still think that the crisis was only some disturbance and not a sign of a fundamental problem in our financial system.
5. Voters who are unable to follow a politic discussion over more than 3 weeks and who will vote for someone who told us to shut up and do as he wanted. ( We have an election in 2 weeks of something like an US governor)
6. The TPB of SGA it had so much potential and so little was used.
7. The TPB of Torchwood. In COE they ruined the whole thing for me. I can't even stand to watch the 1. and 2. serie.
8. 3D movies. I get a headache and serious all I have seen were in desperate need of a better script.
9. Trolls. Seriously to many wonderful writers have left fandoms due to this idiots.
10. Facebook. Yes I know most of you love it. I don't. I think we are facing the destruction of privacy.

1: alcoholic parents. Seriously, do not abuse alcohol when you have children.
2: abusive parents - once more, do not hit your kids. It doesn't work and it hurts them. Do not hit each other either, it hurts your kids. Period.
3: people who approaches medicine and doctors with the attitude that the doctor should immediatly know what's wrong, prescribe a medicine that is guaranteed to work quickly and has NO side effects and if they fail at any of the above, sue their asses off.
4: homophobes. WHAT is your problem with what others do sexually?
5: racists.
6: That they cancelled SGA. SG-1 got at least ten seasons, so why o why kill off SGA that's funny and cool and start up SGU?
7: stomach flu. Also known as gastroenteritis. Nonono.
8: facebook. I don't GET it and I generally love the net. People posting snippets of boring lives and thinks that they connect with eachothers. Bah. Yes I have an account, I just don't use it, wich people find annoying.
9: trolls or people who are intentionally rude on the net.
10: feministbashing. Well excuse me for not wanting to be your doormat.

@ 6. Every time I see SyFy name I can't stop laughing as it means in Polish: zits, pimples or this kind of mess it borders on shit, crap, chaos or you can syfy (instead of cooties) when you are 8 yo boy and a girl OMG!touches you. Thanks to somebody being ignorant we now have a channel called 'Zits' on TV. Lovely. :)

1)I hate bicycle.Bicycle go on trotoire ( i don't think it is the world but google translate it like that so ) because the walker walks more slowly that the bicycle so the walkers can't avoid the bicycle .And it's forbidden on my town . Oh there are rules when you are on the road (so when the fire is red , you don't pass !!!). When you are several on the road , put you on a line because you hinder the car (try pass all this bicycles ).

4)a lot of thing in the fandom Harry Potter : the use of plot overly used , the fact that the Slytherin are too much inteligent ,some pairing , the few use of Hufflepuff when you write on Harry (there are author who write that but when you looks , it is more Harry with the Slytherin , Ravenclaw, Gryffindor), the bashing of some charater(frankly the first time , harry is betrayed by the Weasley because of money is good but after ..).But i love this fandom.

5)The scriptwriter on the Stargate: Atlantis . Frankly , i really think they didn't use a lot Atlantis and a lot of other thing . I remenber too reading that they put Keller with Rodney because they wanted it (i understand like Rodney is a geek , we are geek , why not put Rodney wth a beautiful girl ( so it is like we are with a beautiful girl (i understand that like that).

6) When you talk french and are french don't use word of other language (like for example birthday we have a perfect world for that , no).

7) the free antenna in the radio on 21 hours .

8)Facebook , i think if you want to have new of a person , you can send an email , phone to them or go see them .

9) The french tv .: there are so few good program (thanks good for NRJ 12 , France 4 and France 5 )as i see it (i'm really difficult )

regarding #10, before I got into the SGA fandom I thought McShep=McDonalds and wondered why the fandom was likening the pairing to a fast food restaurant.

I second that. I am glad about the cancellation of SGU though, that did not do anything for me. Couldn't relate to any of the characters and disliked Robby Carlyle's character with a passion. They should have put that money into SGA in the first place.

7. The travesty that is/was SGU and the fact that they have forever destroyed my favorite franchise.
8. The fact that the USerican food supply is so tainted and full of additives and crap and things that don't make sense (like soybean oil in an 'olive oil and vinegar' salad dressing bottle) that I can't eat anything that doesn't come with a fucking pedigree.
9. Every doctor who has ever told me my thyroid was fine and to 'eat less and exercise more' instead of thinking outside the box and helping me and maybe doing a blood test that isn't TSH once in a while. And the knowledge that I have to help my own damn self outside the insurance coverage.
10. The fact that my cat is 18 and getting fragile and senile. :(

7. wanting to cry because the pain in my knee is so bad after walking in the mall for an hour. But this week I am seeing the surgeon for a replacement. If they put me off anymore it's gonna get ugly.
8. reality TV. Our lives are more interesting, and seriously? Who the hell are the Kardashians?
9. feeling guilty because I don't have a lot of money and went to the mall yesterday and blew a wad of it. And had a great time.
10. intolerance. That's a biggie on my list. Shove your signs up your asses and let families mourn in peace.
