2. The beach and anything involving getting in a body of water that doesn't have chlorine in it.
3. It's a Wonderful Life (movie)
4. 95% of the Beatles catalog
5. Horror movies
6. The SyFy Channel for canceling Farscape and for changing the spelling of their name because now I can't even take them seriously.
7. The fact that SyFy broadcasts wrestling
8. Whoever is responsible for the cancellation of Stargate: Atlantis
9. Locked fic entries on LJ though I do know why some people lock their LJ's down because fandom in general is full of sorry, no good, horrible bitches. (well maybe not FULL but it certainly feels like it sometimes)
10. The woman who lives down the street from me who drives the BMW. I don't hate her for the BMW because I don't even really like BMWs but I will say this. If you're going to drive a 50,000 dollar car then you need to DRIVE it and otherwise you need to park that shit in the driveway and let it look pretty instead.

I wondered what was up with the changing of SciFi to SyFy back when they announced it and thought it sounded really stupid.

Then I read (don't remember the source, so it may not be true) that they wanted to distinguish themselves from scifi as a genre versus a company/channel which I can understand even if the name is dorky. That may also be true with a bit of a slant in that they could have sold the SciFi domain which I'm sure they were being gouged for. And whoever got the idea that wrestling is in the scifi genre really had to just be tossing stupid ideas out there and it was taken seriously.

And yes to #5. I love smart comedy. I get a kick out of physical and/or slapstick, but even that can be smart if they take the time to do it IMO. There are a lot of idiots out there, but I appreciate it when I see a movie or read something that goes with intelligence instead of assuming I'm an idiot too.

#1 - I wish I could say I wasn't one. I've had allergies my whole life and actually was scared when I was little that I would get kidnapped and they would tape my mouth shut and I would suffocate. I suppose I should have been more afraid of all the other parts of kidnapping, but there ya go. And I don't blame people when mouth breathing gets to them. I annoy myself :D

1. Pretentious assholes.
2. Idiots that think something is "woman's work".
3. Fancy restaurants where they serve you a few artistically placed smears, and a dollop of something and charge you more than it cost for my first car. I don't want to spend that much money, and then have to stop at the drive-thru for some real food on the way home.
4. People that dump their pets off in the country. Especially those that think they are doing them a favor, and that they can hunt for their food. Trust me your Pekingese isn't going to suddenly turn into the mighty hunter and take down a freaking deer.
5. People that judge me because I'm in my 40's and live with my parents. For the record both are disabled, and I live here to help them. Even if they weren't, and I really was sponging off of them it wouldn't be anyone's business.
6. Racists. I'm always shocked when I meet one because they often look so fucking normal. They should have to have a "I'm a racist asshole" tattoo on their foreheads.
7. That they are now putting raspberries in freaking everything. I'm violently allergic and shouldn't have to worry that my M&M's are going to kill me.
8. Those that abuse the elderly. They need to be taken out and beat on with lead pipes until what's left of them needs to be squeegeed from the walls.
9. 99.9% of my relatives. There are a lot of reasons why I leave at least 1,000 miles away from most of those idiots.
10. Spam. The stuff in the can (although the other kind bugs the crap out of me too). I'm not sure what it is, but I do know that it's not food. Just thinking about it makes me want to gag.

I remember getting an email from SyFy channel when they were changing their name and they gave an explanation for it. All I remembered was translating their message in my head as "we are trying to get away from good programming because the reality crap and wrestling crap pays us more!!" I do remember them saying something about changing the name from SciFi as they were more than just Science fiction and the name was too restricting!

1. Seafood. all of it. shrimp, lobster, McDonald's Fillet-o-fish. I am over 40 and I have tried almost all of it, and would like it if people would stop trying to get me to eat it, as if I haven't tried it and discovered I cant stand it. The odor, the smell, the texture. ugh.
2. Will Ferrel movies. Most of Jim Carey movies. Seth Rodgren.
3. Movies where average to below average looking guys get incredibly hot looking women.
4. Oscars. Just how needy and self centered, arrogant and entitled can one group be?
5. People who call 911 and don't have emergencies, but are just too fucking lazy or cheap to call 411 and get the number to their local police department.
6.People who park in handicap spots using a handicap placard that doesn't belong to them, but a relative. and the person who needs it isn't in the car.
7. feeling guilty when my supervisor asks to speak to me in their office. Intellectually I know i havens done anything wrong, but my gut always acts like i have just been caught doing something wrong.
8. white appliances and oak cabinets in a kitchen. if the cabinets are white, that's ok. otherwise i just cant stand the color combo.
9. that we can send people into space, create robots and make remote car starters that allow you to stay warm in your home while the car gets warmed up, which are cool, but no one can invent a self-cleaning toilet.
10. that i am a coward in life. there are things i want to do, want to visit, want to say, and i am to scared to do, go, say. i wasn't always like this, i'm not sure when it started.
11. people who are offended if you use a word they don't know the meaning of. just because i know the meaning of the word acquiesce or defenestration, doesn't make me a snob. why don't you just look it up? or ask? I would. I do. why should i pretend to be less literate than I am, just to make you comfortable?

7. The TPB of Torchwood. In COE they ruined the whole thing for me. I can't even stand to watch the 1. and 2. serie.
8. 3D movies. I get a headache and serious all I have seen were in desperate need of a better script.
9. Trolls. Seriously to many wonderful writers have left fandoms due to this idiots.

6) When you talk french and are french don't use word of other language (like for example birthday we have a perfect world for that , no).

7) the free antenna in the radio on 21 hours .

1. Gossip Girl; both the books and the show.
2. Having flat tires because it has made me scared shitless and paranoid about thinking that I'm going to pop another tire on some highway and get into a bad accident.
3. Waiting for letters from colleges, and by proxy rejection letters
4. Cleaning litter boxes, cleaning up cat pee and dog pee, picking up the poop the dogs left in the house, etc.
5. Waiting for downloads from iTunes for the most recent episodes of shows I have season passes for...more than 24 hours after they aired.
6. People who write off a show before it even has a chance to prove itself, examples being NCIS: Los Angeles and most recently Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (It's only had four episodes people! For fuck's sake let it mature a little!).
7. People who leave spam comments on my journal posts (No you assholes, I am not interested in the world's largest Ebook library).
8. Realizing that your own writing sounds trivial and very junior high-ish (I admit to this. I actually went back and read some of my stuff and then realized that it's very strange for two people who have been dating for six years and who are crazy in love with each other to be living in separate apartments, and it is equally strange that when traveling they stay in separate rooms. Yeah, like I said, very junior high)
9. How I distract myself from work I'm supposed to be doing by going on the internet (in fact, I should be doing my International Relations homework right now)
10. Most of the boys that I go to school with and the fact that I would probably say yes if one of the good looking ones asked me out (but only because I haven't been on a date since PROM last year)

On a side note: what does the woman who lives down the street from you DO with her BMW if she doesn't drive it and it's not sitting in her driveway looking pretty?

Hate is a powerful weapon....hmmmmm

1) I hate whoever okay'd most of Season 5 of SGA, not Vegas, or The Shrine, those were awesome.

2) I hate whoever thought, allowed, or suggested that SGA be canceled, and now refuse to give us the promised movie.

3) I hate that people are suffering PERIOD!

4) I hate the 'what I don't understand', no matter how hard I try (especially those that takes life such as serial killers)

5) I hate we have moderan earthly events such as wrestling on a science fiction TV station (even if some of the players do look and act like aliens at times)

6) I hate that people judge the a person by looks, weight, race, color, sex, etc....and might be missing out on what could be a truly wonderful person.

7) I hate that family takes advantage of other family members and refuse to see it no matter who points it out to them....or how often.

8) I hate(not really) that I have to go back and read SGA fanfiction cause there's not more new stuff coming out.....

9) I hate that NFL right now for a few reasons, because there are more important issues that deserve the TV coverage is one of them.

10) I temporairly hate snow right now, because Sping is so close and I've seen more than enough snow to last me until next year.

God those ppl make me ashamed to be a human being much less one from Kansas. Everytime I see them on a corner I want to drive my car into the lot of them.

Except I can't because: 1) I love my car and don't want it contaminated by those fuckers.
2) I'm not really willing to go to jail for them. Even if eliminating them from the gene pool would be doing a service to all humanity.
3) I really don't want to disappoint my parents. I'm sure they'd agree with me saying it was a service to all humanity but still...

Although if someone did do that I'm sure a bunch of us would get together and give them a medal.

1. Sitting in Traffic. I would be perfectly happy living in a city with good public transportation. Unfortuntely I don't.
2. People who pay to go to the movies then feel the need to coninuously talk, text, check their phone for messages or have kids who whine/cry and then get mad at others who ask them to stop. Seriously wtf?
3. Bigots. Enough said.
4. Being looked at like a freak because I don't like to go out to bars and/or parties and get wasted on alcohol.
5. People (mostly females), that drown themselves in perfume, most likely to cover up the fact that they don't shower enough.
6. Guys who wear their jeans below their ass and yet still wear a belt. Please raise your hand if seeing men with their boxers/briefs displayed is IN NO WAY ATTRACTIVE.
7. Skinny jeans on guys. Sorry if some out there like this but I just think its very weird looking.
8. Reading fanfiction where the author seemed to not even take the time to know the spelling of characters names. Ex: Moony from HP was referred to as Moody instead for an entire chapter. I stopped reading at that point.
9. Pet owners who don't clean up after their pets.
10. PMSing...its seriously sucked as I have gotten older. Chocolate has become my best friend!

I agree with you with thr 4. I don't like alcohol and people don't understand that ( i had one of my friend who thought i love alcohol , i said no but no ).

1. Ice, except in drinks. It's been a very long winter.
2. The people who ran the Star Trek and Stargate franchises into the ground.
3. Fanfic trolls who have driven some of my favorite writers out of fandom.
4. Conversely, "special snowflake" writers who try to hold updates hostage for reviews (only favorable, of course) or who whine about what a trial it is to have fans.
5. SGU - and the sad thing is that a couple of changes could have made a big difference on my opinion. Kill Chloe, get rid of the communication stones and really cut them off from Earth.
6. SyFy. Enough said. And Food Network.
7. Fish as food. I love shrimp, scallops and lobster, but hate all fish. No, I won't try a nice mild white fish - it still tastes like fish, and I don't like fish.
8. Political telemarketers. Somehow I have ended up on the call list of every potential presidential candidate in both major parties. I don't like any of you, I'm not going to give you money, stop calling me.
9. Not knowing if our friend's family is safe in Japan.
10. People who think it's odd that I know (and care) more about sports than my husband. And as a sub-point, I really hate the New England Patriots.:>)
