Series Summary: After the death of his submissive, Colonel John Sheppard spent four years alone. Grief and anger pushed him and made him even more ambitious in his career. Taking Dr. Rodney McKay into his life and his bed was supposed to be a political maneuver-- but then he met the man and everything he thought he wanted changed in an instant.

Dr. Rodney McKay has spent a year alone after divorcing his Domme and cutting her collar off in public. He doesn't know if he's ready for a new Dom but he does know he wants Atlantis and Colonel John Sheppard's collar is his path to the city of the Ancients. Then the Marine put his hands on him and Rodney realizes that he's already half way to risking his heart again.

Great update! I love this series very much, especially because there are so many characters to be interested in. Some of them I never would have looked at in canon but you manage to make me like Caldwell and speculate about what his dynamic is like. Doubly cool, because there are really enough protagonists to follow already!
I had some difficulties to get my head around Declan but it had nothing to do with your writing, more with the 'face' you selected for him. I am kind of fixated on M. Weatherly as Tony DiNozzo and Tony is (dare I say canonically? someone will be upset with me but, yeah) so subby it isn't funny. Now I just enjoy the thought of a very good looking Frost playing with his partner and it works for me.

Now, I will stop my rambling, just wanted you to know how much I love your story.

I agree that DiNozzo is VERY submissive in NCIS. I'd definitely write him as a sub if I did NCIS BDSM.

Ooh, this is just so awesome! When I realized I was set in a universe inspired by Xanthe's BDSM-world-stories, I knew I just had to read it... And it's really just as awesome, I especially like the schooling they can get for understanding and mastering their dynamic! That's just brilliant :)

Oh. Wow. I'm just in the middle of reading the second part and I'm really blown away. I love how it's both similar and different from the world Xanthe created. The pleasure houses also reminded me vaguely of the Kushiel series what with their getting tattoos afterward and everything. Now back to reading...

It's a series of books by Jacqueline Carey (http://www.jacquelinecarey.com/books.htm). The female protagonist of the first three books in the universe (Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Chosen, and Kushiel's Avatar) is a courtesan who is also very much a masochist. There are different houses that train adepts who eventually bear the marques of their house as a tattoo all over their backs. That's a rather simplified description though. I'd highly recommend it for someone who likes both BDSM and fantasy.

I love your ICON and I'm really looking forward to reading this series when I have a spare week or something. I don't read a lot of BDSM fiction outside of fandom. I tend to read suspense and/or sci-fi when I buy books for my Kindle. OKAY OKAY. I buy a lot of slash ebooks, too.
