All Night Long
I was up all night last night much to Chris King's horror. She nagged me for a while about napping and eating but she means well so I didn't give her any cyberbirdies or anything as a result.
Since I was up all night I did finish THE CATALYST which is the next part in the The Sentinels of Atlantis series and it's been through one beta already and is now in the hands of ****** (name withheld to protect the not-so innocent) for the final beta.
The first book in the Lantean Legacy Series which I'm calling NO ENEMY WITHIN just went over 60k in my final re-write and we're almost ready for beta. Fortunately both Chris and Ladyholder have actually been working with all along on that series so the final beta process shouldn't be too much of a hassle. I'm confident that I'll be ready to start posting the book sometime this month.
I haven't said much about the Lantean Legacy series in public so I thought I'd talk about it a little here.
1. It's a sentient Atlantis story but I think I've approached it from an angle no one else has used in the past.
2. It's McShep but the romance isn't the main focus of the story
3. It's basically a "cut-off" from Earth story
In the first book, the expedition comes to terms with the fact that the people on Earth aren't going to actively support their mission and they are offered an unthinkable gift by Atlantis. This "legacy" changes everyone within the expedition and makes a future where they might be able to return to Earth impossible.
I had a lot of fun writing this and the first draft of the second book is complete. I have a few new OCs and of course John's family which I can't seem to get out of my head will eventually make an appearance. I would say, however, that the star of this piece is Atlantis herself. I really look forward to sharing this with my readers.

I just love all of your stories. Thanks again for being such a prolific and wonderful author.

Which is as it should be. John's family exists in all realities. Even your Star Trek series (in my mind, they're out there somewhere).

Lantean Legacy Series: I always find the few stories that have Atlantis as one of the central characters/AI a very great interesting read. But I'm especially looking forward to this, with the gift she is offering to the SGA people and the decision they make and how it will affect them.
And of course I love John's family and your OCs so that is clearly a great big bonus to me!

Both of these brighten my day considerably. I'm looking forward to the update, as always, and now very curious about the new story!
Though the overprotective part of me has to say please do take care of yourself. I hope you can get some sleep today.

Er, sorry for the gushing and rambling. It's almost 3am and I'm bushed, but I wanted to express my utter glee at hearing what's coming. :)

Well, until we come up with that TARDIS for ya, it's enlightened self-interest to ensure that you're warm and fed and content. We should all thank Mr. Marcos for providing you with comic relief.
I'm still useless after reading The Catalyst. I swear, that scene has burned itself into my memory. (You know the one I mean. Damn! I'm still fanning myself.)
*fangirling wildly for both tales*
Have we told you recently that you're totally awesome?!

As for the ants, ground cloves messes with their sense of smell and you can disrupt their trails if they get in your house and if the poison you set out doesn't work for some reason try two tablespoons of MuleTeam (boric acid)and a half cup of sugar. Seal it into a cardboard carton (mark as poison) and use a pencil to poke a hole in the side large enough for the ants to get in and out. Put it near their nest and wait. They will carry the mixture back to the queen and kill her poof no more ants. And please remind your husband that most insectides are nerve toxins and wearing flipflops while adding water to poison on the ground could make him one sick puppy. I like him, he seems to take good care of you and I'd rather he not get sick.

As much as I agree with Chris, you really should sleep some time, I'm excited and happy it spurred a writing night.
RL has been in the toilet and I look forward to your wonderful distractions. :)
