I make my own pasta these days -- I put the pasta together, put it through the extruder, let it dry and then I cook it as is -- without boiling it advance.
I used to do the same with store bought pasta lasagna and if I'm making a pasta dish with penne or whatever -- I don't boil it either if it's going to back for at least an hour in the oven. It always comes out just fine. ;-)
