As many of you know– I lost all of my personal writing my harddrive died.  I have about ten thumb drives that I have around the house and I picked them all up about three weeks ago and started going through them to see if I could find anything on them. I found some interesting stuff but nothing complete but it’s better than what I thought I had. A lot of it is transferred content from my Netbook to my computer. You’ll all be glad to know that I’ve moved to a program that will allow me to sync all of my content on netbook and computer and  backup drive so I won’t lose anything again if I have a single harddrive failure.

Okay, so this is what I’ve found:

1. Most of the outlines for my Sentinels of Atlantis series– and a draft of the “season finale” that needs a bunch of work. Still better than I thought I had.

2. The entire outline for the Ring of Fire — the follow up novel for the What Might Have Been Series.

3. AND a project I was never ever going to post. It’s pure self-indulgence but I wrote Xanthe and received her permission to post the work that her General & Dr. Sheppard ‘Verse inspired. It needs some work AND a beta or three. For those of you who haven’t read the General and Dr. Sheppard — it’s a fantasy fic set in a BDSM world. My take on the BDSM world theme is just about as kinky and as filthy as I know how to write. It’s McShep with lots of other interesting pairings but it is NOT set in the world Xanthe created. It’s already over 100 thousand words and it isn’t complete. I need to finish shaping the chapters up and then get it betad and then you guys are getting a big huge ass kinky dirty filthy BDSM novel from me.

Hope everyone is having a great month!

:: Hus :: Here is to hoping that you will someday be able to get through this. I am so very sorry that everything got eaten.

P.S. I am not trying to second guess, but... Did you take the hardrive to someone who does data recovery? It might help.

Huh, I am so glad that you have your outlines of the Sentinel stuff, and the Ring of Fire stuff. I don't know how much actual writing you lost from those series, but any loss is hard. I am very sorry for the lost hours, and hurt of lost creativity. I had a HD crash, and it was unrecoverable so Iost fic, and it bothered me for a long time. Having notes was a God send, and I eventually recreated the fic when I recovered from my shock and horror.

I love your writing, and look forward to whatever you have the time and patience to share with us. Your What Might Have Been series is a favorite, and the Sentinel series is just ... wonderful. I love your tough, and sensitive take on these characters. Oh, and thanks for keeping us in the loop. It keeps me hopeful. I am of two minds about the Gen and Dr. Sheppard. I love your vivid sex scenes, but some of the original D and S from this series was too much for me, shrugs ruefully. I have to admit to great curiosity to see what you have done with it. Thanks for the updates, can't wait. -SB

Grins, thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing it. If it's too much for me, shrugs, well, different tastes make the world go round, and it won't be any lack of talent on your part. -SB

Good news that you found something! And very interesting news about the Xanthe inspired story - her series is a guilty little pleasure of mine - it will be fascinating to read your take on it!

Looking forward to all of it!

I am so glad to hear that the crash wasn't as devastating as you first thought!! Yeah for that!

I absolutely love Xanthe's BDSM universe and the Coming Home/General & Dr. Sheppard stories are two of my much-loved favorites. The thought of you writing some stories like these has me dancing in my chair!!

Can't wait for more.

Also, if you need a beta reader I am available (but I am a grammar/spelling nazi when I beta so fair warning!) ;)

Squee!

Gimmee!

*sheepish grin*

Um, I'll look forward to reading any and all of your fic. And a 'big huge ass kinky dirty filthy BDSM novel' sounds just right to me, mostly because I'm an old pervert.

I rather like that about me.

*gives you my very best sweet lil ole lady smile*
