No. I found a sore spot on his back when I was brushing him out last night. Come to find out it as sort of like a heat rash. His winter coat is coming in too soon and he got a little over heated. I had his undercoat thinned out again but it'll probably be back full by the end of September.
You're right - he doesn't normally start putting on his winter coat until late November. We've never seen it come in this early in the year. The weather has been very weird here.
We used to have a couple of Samoyeds. Double-coated dogs have a rough go in hot summers. our guys used to have that problem when the summer was real hot and the winter was gonna be a mild one. Then if it was a real cold winter they'd still be nekkid halfway through December. Sound about right?
