Jan. 21st, 2013 10:04 amThere is a relationship between a writer and a reader. It is often a one-sided relationship because that is the nature of publication. I don't see, know, or interact with everyone who reads my work. As a reader, you are invited into my space and through the body of my work you learn things about me you probably don't even realize you know. No writer is capable of telling a story without personal bias entering into it.
Personal beliefs, politics, religion, sexual preferences & kinks, romantic ideals, and opinions on social issues are going to crop up in fictional works. It just happens. Here's what else happens when you read:

- You're going to be offended.
- You're going to get turned on.
- You're going to get turned off.
- You're going to be amused.
- You're going to have very real feelings about fictional people that may result in tears.
- You're going to wish it was different, longer, and better.
- You're going to be inspired.
- You're going to always want more.
- You'll get mad.
- You'll stay up too late.
- You'll be devastated.
- You'll grow to hate the words "the end".
