I had the damnedest inspiration for SG/Sentinel/His Dark Materials followed by one for HP/Highlander. I'll never write them w/o a challenge (I really, seriously miss Kardasi's). Of course, of I try I'll get screwed by work, but what the hell, I'll never start writing again if I, yanno, don't start writing.

Date: 2014-06-04 02:24 pm (UTC)I've noticed different authors talking about the amazon book pricing and hatchette debate going on and distributor vs publisher determining price? at least that's the gist I got unless I'm reading things wrong, which happens. And than arguments of paying more for a well known, established author vs a newbie; price fixing by publishers etc and I'm all confused now. Do you think you could give me your take on it? Cause I get that with the advent of ebooks, the whole book pricing model is stuck in prehistoric land and modernization with a lot of upheaval going on (btw, when i want to support an author pricing wise, does it matter if i buy ebook vs paperback/hardback when it comes to royalties?) ..........................
and than i consider how customers have been paying full price for digital copies of console games, so why shouldn't an ebook be the same price to cover advertisement, the author, the editing, and all the background stuff that goes into getting a book to market.....
Sooooo, i have no clue if i'm making any sense and I was honestly just curious about your take on this whole thing as a professional writer...

That being said, even traditional houses pay the author more for eBooks than for print so buy electronic first and foremost if you have a choice.
