keiramarcosAbout a week or so ago, someone commented on Slash World in a way that I found extremely offensive. It was a bashy comment about an author and how horrible they thought this particular author was. It isn't the first time a bashy comment has made it to the comment section of Slash World and I doubt it will be the last. This person didn't complain to me that I deleted their comment. For all I know, they didn't even notice it was never published on the post they were commenting on to begin with.
However, it did prompt me to post a warning on Slash World about future comments of that nature and how I would deal with them. I have a similar policy on my own site. If you can't say something nice then just shut the fuck up. It's simple really. There are plenty of places all over the Internet where you can bitch and I'm certainly not required to offer you another place to do so.
Someone used my "contact me" form on my personal site to bitch about my commenting policy on Slash World and how they felt it was restrictive and in infringed on their right to "free speech" and then he/she accused me of censorship.
I KNOW this person is a troll. I'm aware of it and after I stopped laughing at them -- I realized that they WANTED me to come over here to LJ and bitch about them. I think that was the whole point behind their little communication with me... they wanted to get me all riled up so I would come over here and bitch about it. Well, far be it from me to disappoint a FAN.
