Apparently the plague has stolen my motivation because I don't want to do a damn thing and couldn't be fucked to care about anything either. Maybe it's because I can't breathe out of my nose. You'd be surprised how much that can impact your general mood. Well, perhaps not since I've been bitching about it a few days.

I slept all night and then I woke up around 7am and was up for an hour or so AND then I went back to bed and woke up again when The Cock Provider came home. Then I went and got myself some chicken fingers.

Now I'm watching some tv on my DVR. The last episodes of: Law & Order: LA, Hawaii Five-O, and CSI: Miami.

I have a whole season of Sanctuary to watch as well as most of last season of True Blood but I can't be motivated to actually watch them.

"HUGS"

Have you tried Musinex? Usually works great to get the crap up and out of your head and lungs?

Have your hubby pick up some Musinex for you. It works wonders. I used to use Robitussin and it takes too long and tastes horrible!

Second the Mucinex

Make sure you drink lots of water with it, though. They aren't half kidding about that part (in the directions.)

Assume whatever position is least uncomfortable and feel better!

I know how you feel, I'm battling my own head cold and I can handle everything else apart from the blocked nose. I mean it might be me, but I quite like breathing, I hear it does this small thing called keeping you alive.

I have Hawaii Five-O on my watch list, and just finishing up season 2 of True Blood

if your sinus are blocked up, one fun and easy way to get them to open up is to eat something spicy, like really hot curry or chinese food. haven't you ever eaten something that made your nose run, 'cause it was so hot? LOL.
remember to take deep breaths, too. i know it sounds kind of funny, but if you have a chest cold and have been coughing a lot, then you probably have irritated your chest and ribs from all the coughing and it might be sore. personally,i have cracked 3 ribs coughing, but then i also have asthma. but if you get sore and don't treat the pain, then u start to naturally take shallower breaths and that doesn't help clear out the gunk. sometimes it lets pneumonia in, so treat the pain too. vicodin and other oxycodeine pain killers also help stop u from coughing, when u get to the point where u r coughing just to cough.
also if you all don't stop with the HO5 videos and talks and fandom stories requests, i will have to start watching. i don't want to do that, 'cause as twisted as it sounds, i see it as giving up on SGA. (just me personally. not making any sort of accusation out there. you all enjoy everything you can, just for me, i don't know, but for some reason HO5 has become 'the replacement'. andIdontwanna.

Rosemary? I've found rubbing my hands on fresh rosemary and then smelling them works well. Plus horse liniments are good for clearing the sinuses and driving an felines nuts.

I have to agree with mucinex over robitussin. Its more concentrated guaifenesin and does a better job. Dextromethorphan makes me shake like a junkie.

I used to get bronchitis 3-4 times per year, generally with a sinus infection to up the fun. I relied on:
spicy food-preferably curry
hot lemonade
lots of hot showers

Sorry it sucks to be you this week.

Hot lemonade works wonders, as do echinacea and steaming your head. Feel better! I send you virtual chicken soup with plenty of garlic.

Musinex is a really good idea, but I want to let you know what we do when all else fails. If you are so stuffed up you can't taste your food, find a really good Chinese restaurant and get some of their hot and sour soup. Not off the buffet line, but out of the kitchen. Fresh and hot this stuff is like a nuclear explosion for my sinuses.

Other things are steaming with peppermint tea (drinking it is good, but some people find the strength you need to unlock your sinuses to actually be rather upsetting to the stomach)

If your brains actually feel like they are being drilled to by something in your sinuses, I suggest a cold compress and CSI or Supernatural to watch. Also, for some reason, leaning my forehead into the hubby's belly pooch while he rubs my head and shoulders work as well. Lately, when all the plants started having sex, I told him I wanted to wear his stomach as a hat, but he wasn't amused.

Hope somewhere in these comments, something will help. As for motivation -- your only motivation should be to get well.

Chicken soup, delivered to your bedside (or couchside) by your Cock Provider (I love that, BTW)

Hope you feel better soon.

I still say cinnamon tea with enough rum or brandy in it to make Captain Jack Sparrow pass out is the way to go for "treating" a cold. Just don't take DayQuil at the same time. I made that mistake once, and was so jittery afterward I could barely blink.

you've been given so much good advice, I've got nothing to add except: get well soon

I hope you feel better soon; being sick sucks. If you are having trouble sleeping, try sleeping upright. Sleeping flat clogs me up worse when I have a cold. Last time I was really stuffy I propped myself up in a big comfy chair and slept so much better.

Really steamy hot showers do wonders for me. It's temporary because it doesn't address the cause, but helps get the crap out whether it's allergies or a head cold or whatever. Also, feeling clean helps with the general crappy feelings

When i'm sick it's terribly debilitating for me too, so I understand your pain. I hope you feel better soon.
