So,

Yesterday I got my eyebrows waxed. I hate to pluck them but GEEZ as much as I like pain, eyebrow waxing is not a sexy time. At one point, I turned to my stylist, looked her right in the eye and said, "I don't even like you right now at all." The sadist just laughed at me. I also don't even understand how women can get other areas waxed. My legs cross involuntarily when I think about it. Ack.

Today, I did some work and chatted with my Padawan while we played Gears of War. I don't dig the P3 as much as my XBox so I don't play those games much. The kid was a total warrior and handed my ass to me more than once. The little bastard.

Yesterday, I was with my mother at the salon. We did hair cuts and color. I picked out her colors and she picked out my hair cut. There is no way I'd have let her pick out my colors but I figured if the hair cut was horrible that my stylist would stage an intervention. She did a pretty cool job of it actually and I didn't run screaming from the picture.

Zuma Blitz keeps locking up on me on Facebook. I might have screamed a little over it.

Sigh.

LOL.

There is not a hope in hell of me letting my sister or my mother near my hair. They did guilt me into getting my eyebrows waxed right after (read one day) after I got out of the Navy.

I hated it. OWOWOWOWOWOW. Anyway. So I am with you on getting other areas waxed. WTF with that?

Games are not my thing & the only one I am currently playing is Frontierville on Facebook and well... It eats A LOT of time.

At least they waited one day. My mother and sisters started trying to "re-girlify" me the moment I stepped off the plane.

And waxing personal areas? EEEEEOOOOUUUCH!! I mean, I have a high pain threshold, but... NOOOOOO!!!!

Waxing pain?

Topical Lidocaine before.

Seriously, that shit works.

Hmm . . . I think it gets easier the more times you do it on the waxing. Or, at least, that's what my cousin told me when I asked how she could get certain places waxed (we were discussing swimming suits). The texture of the hair changes a bit. Apparently it is inadvisable to shave between waxing as it makes the hair coarser?

To me waxing eyebrows is easier (but then my eyebrows are pretty shapely considering. They just have a few strays between my eyes and then above the eyebrows . . . mostly just above the eyes is the hard part). My eyes automatically start crying when I pluck my eyebrows for some reason. I hate it.

Backing out of this one slowly and quietly. Waxing? WTF? ugh

I'm not into pain. Hence, yeah...I'll pass on that whole waxing thing.

What colour *did* you go with? And what did you choose for your Mother?

For me, getting my brows waxed -- eh. I mean, it's not fun, but it doesn't hurt that much.

But you know what burns with the fire of a thousand suns? Getting my lip waxed. That's the worst.

Yeah, that has to hurt. There are so many nerves there.

Ouch.

You don't know me, but maybe try threading instead of waxing? Hurts a bit with the upper lip, but eyebrows hardly hurt at all when I get them done. :)

waxing? once. had, like, an allergic reaction and 3 days later was still puffy and swollen. plucking is just not time effective, i actually use this little electric razor thingy to shape them.

i had some laser hair removal on my face 2x, and it worked really well. and it was painful at the time, but nothing else

and about 2 weeks ago, Zuma started to freeze and slow down on me, every time i take a shot, there is this little hiccup. i emailed them, and their advice was to close down other programs, but, uh, the only one i had was the firefox i was using to play zuma, so.....

curious....what's the going rate for a haircut with highlights in your neck of the woods? i pay about $125 and we are not talking fancy salon, but just above hair cuttery.

I occasionally (as in every couple of years) wax my legs for one summer because I'm too lazy to shave and it irritates my skin anyway. It does hurt at the beginning, but the more often you do it, the more desensitized to the pain you get. I'd never try bikini zone though, or my armpits. Just the thought makes me shudder.

I use depilatory cream on my legs but I hand pluck my eyebrows.

I had my eyebrows waxed once.... they never grew back! Glad she made them a nice shape though, all I need to do is tidy up!

You could try teething gel - I use it to pluck the few stragglers.

I'll get my eyebrows waxed every so often. Fortunately, my stylist works fast; it seems to hurt less that way.

I use an Epilady on my legs. The first time I used it, it hurt like hell, but either I've gotten used to it or my hair is getting easier to deal with. It's not painful now, just a little stinging. And it lasts quite a while.

I can't even imagine getting a Brazilian.

Never had anything waxed. Never plucked my eyebrows either. I was lucky in that respect.

The latest comment I got about hair color was from my son. He told me I should really consider coloring my hair because I'm getting a lot of grey streaks. I told him him & his sister are the cause of every damn one of them. I'm not coloring it so he can be reminded of it all the time.

I suppose that's better than my 13 year old granddaughter, who told me I have no sense of style (this is true) and I need better bras because my boobs are really sagging. Little brat. Gotta love 'em.

I tried to wax my legs once in college. I waxed the first one, then shaved the other when I stopped screaming.

This just proves to me how masochistic I am. I've never thought waxing has hurt much, and in fact just about fell asleep with pleasure the first time I had it done. Huh, maybe I'm just odd.

Something I can recommend to read, I certainly enjoyed it. I very much enjoy reading your recommendations, as well as everything you write. It is kind of dark, deliciously dark,. oh well see what you think

http://www.eternalvox.net/auburn/unnaturalselection.html

2010 Big Bang entry, this apocalyptic epic contains wonderful alien interaction as the Ancient ship Destiny carries its unwitting/unwilling passengers through uncharted space. The story is deliciously dark and filled with great supporting characters, but I believe the strongest sections deal with a John Sheppard who's become something more than human. Although the change was against his will, he's slowly learned to accept it, and so will the others.

I cringe with you at the thought of waxing that area. Now more so than ever. One of my friends picked something up from bikini waxing, I was skeptical but she swore up and down that it's been a year since she's had sex. Turns out the people at the place she goes to, use the same wax on other clients and they dip the stick thingy inside the wax after using it on someone. So whatever that one person has, gets transferred with the wax or something like that.

She's totally flipping out and with the amount she pays them at that place, i would be having a conniption in her place.
My other friend was totally evil when she commented "At least you didn't get herpes and It could have been on your lip or eyebrows."
She's getting the cold shoulder for being insensitive and she totally deserves it.

Just sharing this little bit of horror. It freaked me out when I heard and I usually just go get my eyebrows waxed and I'm really freaked about doing that now.

I knew a girl once that waxed her legs weekly. She had very thick, fast growing blond hair. (I tried some on a small patch of leg once...never again.) She did her underarms as well and had a lot of hair on her upper lip and I mean a really thick moustache but the odd thing is she never bothered with it, just her legs and underarms.

On the threading, I checked out that vid then noticed a few on the sidebar some showing how to do it yourself, one said tricks and tips to doing it yourself. As I am kind of financially strapped right now I checked it out. She made it look easy. I think I may give it a try.
